Week 9…done!

Anyone remember that documentary ‘Super Size Me’? In 2004 (I can’t believe it was 13 years ago), Morgan Spurlock embarked on a 30 day experiment that was quite the opposite of mine. However, there were many similarities. He was focused, he had an end goal in mind and most importantly, like me, he set some strict rules for the 30 days:

  • All 3 meals, each day had to be from McDonald’s.
  • Over the 30 days he had to try every item on the McDonald’s menu at least once.
  • He was forbidden to eat anything other than McDonald’s food.
  • If staff asked him to Super Size his food, he had to.
  • His exercise each day was based on the average steps of a typical American, just 5,000 per day.

I am fully aware the purpose of this documentary was to shock us. It was to show that in 30 days he gained 24.5lbs and developed a whole load of health issues and warnings. But, am I the only one that watched it and just really wanted a McDonalds?

The fat step was kind to me this week, I lost another 1lb. That’s a 13lb total loss now and just 1lb off my mini March target. But I can’t believe I am saying this, now that I am starting week 10, WEEK 10, I knew it was time to crank this shred shit up, or you might say, Super Size it! All hail Shred Master Sarah who was right onto it when I asked for suggestions. The answer, maximising my fat burning potential. The plan this week is intense but I am all in. Intermittent fasting, because anything that’s good enough for Terry Crews, is good enough for me. And then screw that 4 day exercise rule, this week I’m Super Sizing the shred with 7 exercises across 6 days.

This morning I got up just 45 mins earlier and did a very sweaty 20 minutes on the stepper at the gym. Then, post work I did Insanity and the rest of the week looks like this:

Monday AM – 20 mins stepper
Monday Pm – Insanity
Tuesday – P90X
Wednesday – Rest day
Thursday – Insanity
Friday – 20 mins stepper
Saturday – Gym run
Sunday – Gym weights session

Just typing that made me somewhat breathless! But hey, you can’t expect change by sitting on your ass all day. My week 10 summary blog may be slightly delayed on account of not being able to move by Sunday, but who cares, let’s do this shred fans!

“Embrace failure, never never quit. Get very comfortable with that uneasy feeling of going against the grain and trying something new. It will constantly take you places you never thought you could go.” – Terry Crews
